My car is black. My steelies are black. This is too much black. This is black like the themes I used to install on Windows XP back when I listened to Linkin Park (I still listen to Hybrid Theory sometimes. Stop judging). These are the colors I am considering painting my wheels:
1. White.
This is a pretty typical Honda color. White steelies on a black car. Simple.
2. Bronze/gold
This is probably my favorite. Bronze and black is a fantastic color combination.
3. Blue
Jay Lauer suggested this and I'd never really thought of it. Not too bad.
4. Something else
Got a suggestion? I'd love to hear it! If possible, a picture would help.

For now, I say leave them black. It would look too ricey if you painted them. If you ever clean the car up completely, gold steelies would look great!

I like the white, personally. Gold/blue are too rice, and I think red would look weird.

Hybrid Theory is a great album and flat back rims on a black car look pretty good. Otherwise I'd go with flat white. Shiny rims are for posers. Or let it all hang out and paint them hot pink.

Sand the enamel off and let it turn to a nice rust color.

A nice charcoal/anthracite would look pretty good. Not too flashy to be considered ricey, but would looks loads cleaner than typical black.

I think gold would look cool but only if you polish the lip or paint it silver.

FACT: black cars are meant red steelies.
I believe that is in the Constitution, or something.

Flat white is what I'm leaning towards, though it does remind me of a trailer my grandpa had when I was a kid that had white steelies.

Why keep it one color? I always loved the steel wheels of the 2002 Turbo: grey (or keep it black) on the inside, silver on the outside.

Paint them like this for shits and giggles or leave them like they are now.

Linkin Park are awesome, why would anyone judge about that.

From a distance of greater than 7 feet it looks pretty clean as is. Gold and black is just... hnng.
So much subtler than the white, imo.

http://www.hydro-dip.com/patterns/Patte… Get them hydro dipped with a wood grain! :D .....I'm mostly kidding. In all honestly I'd go with a gunmetal or dark silver color, though the bronze/gold option doesn't look bad either.

Black and gold is so JPS.

I still rock Hybrid Theory so don't you worry!
Also, I am a fan of white wheels...was thinking about doing my winters like that for next year. Or yellow.
But for you, matte white would look good with the black.

I still listen to Hybrid Theory as well.

Red.
Then + dog dishes and wide whitewalls

British Racing Green.

I think gold would look the best! Black and Gold always looks good together and it won't like to ricey as having red, blue or lime green wheels.

That works! Hell, just see if slapping them on your current set changes the look!

This might actually look pretty cool. Just find a set of Civic Shuttle steelies.

You used to listen to Linkin Park?
I guess in the end, it doesn't even matter.
Anyway, gold.

Jewish racing gold or Swedish racing green.

I am definitely leaning towards gold.

Black with the outer lip in red :)

Do not paint them. Get and install half moons on them, along with white walls.

Hybrid Theory is still awesome. No worries there.
I'd say to go with the gold. If not, just keep them black.

How are your brakes? I had a car that came with pads that left an unreasonable amount of dust on the wheels. White would not stay white for long.

My default answer to color questions is doo doo brown. So you should paint them doo doo brown.
Or 2 tone like Jobjoris suggested. That 2002 is one sharp automobile.

I did white painted steelies on my white car (pictured) and loved it. If my car were black, I'd probably do gold/bronze or a plain red
worth noting, painting into that crevice in the wheels was a serious PITA
